Robbie Fowler believes Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard should not have been sacked from his role as manager of Aston Villa.
The ex-Liverpoolstriker was a team-mate and is a friend of the former Reds captain as Fowler backsGerrardto come back stronger than ever following the sacking from his Premier League job.
Gerrard was relieved of his duties at Villa Park last week following a 3-0 loss to Fulham and Fowler highlighted how the Liverpool icon will be more determined than ever once he makes his return to management.

Despite not knowing where Gerrard goes next after his sacking from the Villa job, Fowler is adamant the ex-Reds skipper will take it on the chin and move on from the disappointment.
I honestly havent got a clue where Steven Gerrard will go next, I think its a tough one because I still think its still a bit raw, Fowler toldFairBettingSites. I know Steven as a player and a person and Ive not really been watching him closely as a manager because I have never been hands-on with him in that way.
But Stevens attitude is quite rightly what he was like as a player. Hell come back and show people how good he is. He had an unbelievably tough start in management in the Premier League and we are all aware of that. From a biased point of view, I think he shouldve kept his job.
I am realistic to know that football is a business and owners and chairmen have a duty to the club and to the fans of that club. If thats what they want, then there is a need for change. Unfortunately, it happens and I think that it has got nothing to do with Steven.
The Villa fans turned on Gerrard after a poor run of results and performances. Fowler thinks once that happens, there is no way back for a manager.
Sometimes results are bad and they need a bit of a lift and a change, Fowler added. Steven has to take it on the chin but I think hell come back stronger. We always talk about clubs and managers leaving and being willy-nilly but whether the CEOs or the owners who run the places like Steven. It doesnt matter. Once the fans start singing we want you gone then theres only one thing they can do.
Thats the way football is, we always know fans are massively important in getting behind a team. But we also know that fans can absolutely sway the minds of the owners, chairman etc. Thats what happened at Villa.
