Aston Villa and Wolves are both reportedly interested in signing Sevilla goalkeeperYassine Bounou, who this winter has been one of the stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, the Premier League duo are keeping tabs on the 31-year-old La Liga shot-stopper, who the report state has been one of the best players at the World Cup this year as Bounou stole headlines earlier this week for his heroics against Spain.

The shot-stopper, who goes by Bono, saved two penalties against the European powerhouses as Morocco became the first North African country to progress to the quarter-finals of the World Cup. And as a result, interest is spiking in the Sevilla superstar.

As per the report, the Andalusian giants value Bounou at €30m (25m), a transfer fee that many top sides will find appealing given just how good the goalkeeper has been at the World Cup as well as overall for Sevilla over the past few seasons.

However, links to Villa and Wolves feel questionable, to say the least. Indeed, both Premier League sides have top goalkeepers in their own right already on their books, with Emi Martinez Argentinas no. 1 and Jose Sa one of the best shot-stoppers in the division.

As a result, there is no chance that either Premier League side could be looking to sign Bounou unless there is some serious movement in the January window, though it is unlikely that Villa or Wolves will opt to offload their starring keepers in the coming weeks.

Its perhaps no surprise that Bounou is already being linked with a move to the Premier League after the goalkeepers incredible performances for Morocco at the World Cup. However, Villa and Wolves are two clubs that are hardly in need of a new starter between the sticks.

As a result, the 31-year-old will be much better off staying in Sevilla after the World Cup, with Bounou one of the best keepers in La Liga and a player that the Spanish side will be desperate to keep hold of in the January transfer winow.
