Wrexham AFC: Womens side closing in on attendance record

The potential record-breaking game takes place at the end of March.

THE support of Wrexham AFC fans has been hailed as unbelievable ahead of a potentially record-breaking day.

Wrexham AFC Women wrapped up the Genero Adran North title in style two weeks ago as they overcame Rhyl 1879 11-1.

With one game of the season remaining, against second place Connahs Quay Nomads, the club are hoping to break the domestic attendance record at the Racecourse.

The clash between the rivals takes place on March 26, with a 2pm kick-off and tickets available for 1.

The club hopes to break the womens domestic attendance record which was set by Cardiff City Women when they hosted Abergavenny in November.

5,175 were in attendance that day and the Reds are hoping to go one further.

On Monday (March 13) 4,300 tickets for the clash at the Racecourse had already been sold, with only 900 more tickets needing to sell to break the record.

Wrexham AFC Womens manager Steven Dale described the support so far as unbelievable.
